Felicity
House was born in Kent and from an early age had a passion
for drawing. Formerly a Primary School teacher, Felicity
gave up teaching in 2000 to concentrate on developing
her art. She now works as an illustrator and teaches life
drawing at the Art Institute at Bournemouth.
Felicity enjoys making instinctive and spontaneous paintings
and drawings directly from the subject. The paintings
remain as fresh responses in their own right. The drawings
and tonal studies are often developed in the studio, edited
into abstracted watercolour landscapes while always retaining
the essence of a place. There is a clean simplicity about
these compositions.
Felicity has been awarded numerous awards and regularly
exhibits at the RWA annual exhibition Bristol; and in
London with the Pastel Society, the New English Art club,
the Royal Institute of Watercolour painters and at the
Discerning Eye exhibition.
