Her inspirations range from the amazing varity of life she encountered in Africa, visists to Kew gardens and winter walks on the Sussex downs. In the studio, photographs of far-flung places and drawings made locally are combined to make new hybrid worlds that are both secretive and fantastical.

In some of her paintings Liz reinforces the ecological nature of her work by painting onto re-cycled wood.
