Ned
Heywood graduated as a 3D designer from Newcastle College
of Art in 1969. He started making pottery three years
later, and in 1983 opened his workshop and gallery in
Chepstow.
Most of his work is made to commission for major companies,
national and local organisations, including tile panels
for the exterior of buildings, heritage plaques and trails,
awards, corporate gifts etc.
He enjoys the relaxation and contrast of throwing practical
pots with elegant timeless forms, which he glazes with
his own vibrant stoneware glazes. He is also a creative
and an accomplished cook.
Ned has been Chairman of the Chepstow Festival since it
started in 1988 and the producer of the Monmouthshire
Historical Spectaculars staged at Chepstow Castle, Tintern
Abbey and Caldicot Castle
